Stop the Violence: Community Basketball & BBQ

Saturday, July 13th 1-5 pm

Come join us Saturday, July 13th for the Community Basketball Tournament and BBQ in our efforts to stop the violence and bring community comradery.

- $50 per team

- Must be at least 14 years old to participate

- 5-5 full-court basketball

- 10 players team maximum

To help people who want to help themselves "Against All Odds".

To implement solutions that will help people discover self-identity.

To recycle negative consequences into positive change and curve the catastrophic evolution of gangs, crime, prison racism and violence.

 

"IMAGE" Program History

I.M.A.G.E (Inmate-Movement-Against-Gang-Evolution). was originally designed to help inmates better utilize their time while incarcerated to become purpose driven citizens and prepare for successful reentry. This faith based program which earned the support of Warden Cornel Smith & Deputy Warden Adam Yetmar has seen tremendous growth since inception February 2016. Robert Pate Jr. is the founder and President of what inmates call the "Super Man Program” Pate founded the program at North Central Correctional Facility in Rockwell City, Iowa. IMAGE is now a certified 501c3 non-profit organization in Des Moines, Iowa.

I.M.A.G.E works to accomplish several goals:

- Believe in the power of prayer.

- Promote better understanding and co-operation among the different races.

- Deter from being followers and joining gangs by providing Bible studies and prosocial activities, sports tournaments, fund-raising, and guest speakers.

- Assisting in preparing a plan for success after prison including; job skills, resumes, interview techniques, networking, interpersonal & family relationships communication skills, and public speaking.
